Oracle Cloud Payroll Consultant

To deliver a consistently high standard of programmes and projects to agreed deliverables, in time and on budget.  Ensure that all clients, post implementation become a positive reference site. Oversee other projects being delivered by colleagues acting as senior reviewer and champion of raising standards and good practice.

Main duties and responsibilities  

  • Project manage multiple projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Ensure the financial management of projects is robust, CRs raised where appropriate and budgets tracked and communicated.
  • Establish strong and effective relationships with the client’s project team.
  • Lead the Symatrix team involved in the project and ensure all aspects of the service are delivered to the highest professional standards and the team are fully supported.
  • Act as key daily contact point on the project and work with the Project Management Lead and/or Head of Oracle Practice to resolve escalated issues.
  • Ensure effective handovers are completed to the Symatrix managed services team or the client support team and that knowledge transfer takes place throughout the project where appropriate.
  • Identify further sales opportunities during the project.
  • Support the internal Symatrix resourcing process - Assist in ensuring Symatrix resources are appropriately deployed.
  • Mentor more junior Project Managers helping to develop their approach, skills and capability.
  • Support the sales team in pre-sales activities and tender responses.
  • Work with the Symatrix Consulting team to continuously improve the Business Operating Manual and Customer Operating Manual.
  • Adhere at all times to the ISMS (information Security Management System) and help to identify ways to build more data and information governance into our day to day activities within the Consulting Team.

Person specification


  • Proven experience of Oracle ERP/HCM Project Management
  • Proven record of managing multiple projects simultaneously throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Understanding of Oracle Project delivery
  • Understanding of HR and payroll processes
  • Demonstrate proactive management and problem solving
  • Managing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience of working with 3rd party suppliers
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home


  • Project Management Qualification
  • Experience of Oracle HCM Cloud or other SaaS software e.g. Workday, SuccessFactors
  • Previous Consultancy experience
  • Experience of responding to ITT /RFPs
