By Tammy Hibbert, Project Manager
At the moment my work life is a little different to what I am used to, I now get up at 6am, do an hour’s workout, which is either a run or a gym session at home to start the day. I then shower and get ready to start my workday! Grab a healthy breakfast and a nice cup of coffee. I usually put the radio on in the background as working from home can be quiet.
I move into my home office and turn on my laptop, I will check the time details on Kimble, our time logging system, review my emails and the client cases to see if there are any new ones I need to address. I’ll plan out my day and prepare for meetings and calls that might be happening in the day ahead. I attend a lot of meetings and there are usually actions required in terms of updating calls and project plans, including planning for environment management, developing solutions etc. We do regular Client reviews to ensure everything is running smoothly for our Managed Services Customers.
Sometimes at lunch I’ll work through but working at home means I can also put some washing on and do any little errands I need.
I’ve been at Symatrix for seven years; initially I was a Project Manager in the Oracle Delivery Practice but now I am Project Manager within our Managed Services Practice which is based in Manchester. Before Symatrix, I was an Implementation Consultant at ADP then transferred to Project Management. I like being in one place! I love being in the office with people, we collaborate and support each other which makes work enjoyable for us and our customers. I do really miss this at the moment.
When I left school I moved to London and started working in Accounts with a bit of payroll (back in the day when we had to order the right number of bank notes to pay employees in cash) then I moved onto working in BPO role for Centre File, I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers and providing payroll services. I like it here at Symatrix we are focussed on continuous improvement and customer experience, this allows me and our customers to really feel like we can change things and make a difference.
I like to keep fit, I have a personal trainer one night a week, I also run and do spinning on other days. I’m training for the Manchester marathon in support of the British Heart Foundation, which will hopefully happen next year.
After all that exercise and healthy eating, I wind down by reading something light-hearted or watching a film – SCI FI is my first choice of genre.
