First founded in 1958 Lendlease has since become a global project management and construction company with Head Offices in New York, Singapore and London. With over 12,000 employees they still remain dedicated to setting the world's leading standards for safety, innovation and sustainability.

The Challenge

Lendlease, to adhere to UK standards needed to update their E-Business system. After the upgrade, due to their technical capabilities the system was managed by in-house support. Whilst this support team were managing the system, they would make a plethora of small changes to the system, without a valid business case costing the business unnecessary money and time to implement these changes. A key member of the support team leaving prompted Lendlease to investigate the support structure, with the end result being a tender to market.
Their main aims of outsourcing their support was to reduce the cost of their current support method and to reduce the percentage of change in their system. After a rigorous tender process Lendlease chose Symatrix. This was due to how cost effective it would be and Symatrix’ ability to challenge Lendlease.

The Solution

Through outsourcing their support to Symatrix, Lendlease reduced the change of their system by 90%, this was enabled through our robust change process which assess business benefits as well as user experience, and impact on departments. A change to the system will not occur without a business case and going through the robust change process which has resulted in the large amount of positive savings made in support. Over the 5 years that Lend Lease outsourced their support to Symatrix they have shown significant savings and, though our vigorous change control, a reduced amount of system change. The continued relationship that Symatrix has now developed with Lend Lease means they will benefit from our expert knowledge through future upgrades and business developments.
