Springer Nature

Springer Nature is a world leading global research, education and professional publishers. They are the world's largest academic book publisher with almost 13,000 members of staff operating in over 50 countries.

The challenge

Springer Nature selected Oracle due to their global business requirements and the first phase of this was implemented by a partner for their Asia region. Lessons were learnt from this first implementation and Springer Nature decided they needed a more experienced and capable partner to implement in the UK. After a lengthy tender process which included detailed propositions from three UK Oracle Partners, they selected Symatrix. With our record in Cloud implementation as well as unrivalled knowledge in HR process they were confident Symatrix could deliver a faster, simpler and more effective project.

The solution

Through working closely with Springer Nature’s HR and technical team, Symatrix delivered our best practice processes on Oracle HCM Cloud within 4 months. As well as the on time and on budget implementation we also provided functional support to backfill internal resource who had been taken from supporting Asia to be involved in the UK project. Springer Nature gained a simplified standard process across their UK workforce that had previously been on two separate systems, improved visibility of data provided to help decision making and through the knowledge transfer provided, a greater understanding of how they could be more self-sufficient managing the system moving forward.

Conclusion

Due to the success of the UK implementation and the positive impact a single, modern and mobile HCM System has had, Springer Nature now feel confident to roll out Oracle HCM Cloud globally.
